This informative session shares how Mental Health Awareness Training (MHAT) can serve as a Tier 1 strategy to support the mental health and wellbeing of students through staff-wide engagement. Free to all Georgia schools, districts, and RESAs, the MHAT project offers evidence-based professional learning opportunities on topics such as suicide prevention, trauma, educator wellness, and more. This session provides an overview of the course offerings available through GaDOE in collaboration with expert organizations. Participants also explore potential strategies for overcoming common barriers to professional learning.
