CHINS 101 Revisited: Understanding the CHINS Process and District's Role

This webinar will revisit the fundamentals of Children in Need of Services (CHINS) in Georgia and provide updates and practical guidance for educators and school staff. Participants will review the purpose of the CHINS process, when a referral may be appropriate, the role of schools and community partners, and key considerations for supporting students and families. The session will also highlight updates and additional considerations since our original CHINS 101 webinar in April 2026. Whether you attended the original session or are new to CHINS, this webinar will provide a clear, practical overview of how the CHINS process can support schools as part of a broader approach to addressing student needs, including attendance concerns.
