CHINS 101: Understanding the Children in Need of Services Process
April 22 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Description:
CHINS 101: Understanding the Children in Need of Services Process and the School District’s Role
This webinar will provide an overview of Children in Need of Services (CHINS) in Georgia and the important role school districts play in the process. CHINS is a juvenile court intervention designed to address concerns such as truancy and other student needs that require coordinated, wraparound support. Participants will learn the purpose of CHINS, when a referral may be appropriate, and how schools and community partners work together to support students and families. The session highlights how CHINS can serve as one component of a broader, comprehensive strategy to reduce chronic absenteeism and strengthen student engagement.
