As part of the Georgia Goes to School Initiative to reduce chronic absenteeism by 50%, the Office of Whole Child Supports has partnered with the Carl Vinson Institute of Government (CVIOG) at the University of Georgia to conduct a mixed-methods analysis of the factors contributing to chronic absenteeism in Georgia schools. Please join this session to hear from the CVIOG-UGA team on the findings and considerations from their in-depth analysis, which includes staffing ratios, school climate and safety data, as well as discussion groups with students, parents, leaders, teachers, social workers, counselors, parent mentors, engagement specialists, and juvenile justice representatives.
