Common Ground: ESOL and SPED Collaboration for EL Identification

By the end of this recording, ESOL and Special Education leaders help build knowledge, mindsets, and skills that can foster systemwide collaboration focused on:
1. Common Conditions: Shared knowledge of commonalities and differences between ESOL and Special Education programs.
2. Common Interactions: Collegial contributions during ELP screener decision-making for potential EL students with suspected and/or documented disabilities.
3. Common Outcomes: Coordinated services that address both language development and disability-related needs and provide EL/SWD access to standards-based instruction and support.
