Communicating High Expectations in Special Education

Intended Audience: Blended Teachers, District Leaders, Early Learning Teachers (Birth-5 yrs), Elementary Teachers, High School Teachers, Middle School Teachers, Special Education Teachers
Understanding the importance of setting high expectations for students is a critical component of student success. Participants will examine how communicating high expectations helps students feel valued and respected. Strategies discussed will include identifying expectation level for all students, identifying differential treatment of reluctant learners, and using nonverbal and verbal indicators of respect.
