Creativity is an inherent part of music education. So much so, that creating is one of the four artistic processes that ground our Georgia Standards of Excellence in Music. By fostering students’ creative musicianship, we’re ultimately supporting their ability to improvise, compose, and perform expressively, as well as listen to music with greater autonomy and personal significance. This workshop explores creativity as a cornerstone of curricular planning, transforming music learning across all music content areas and grade levels. Participants will gain numerous strategies for K-12 music classrooms and ensembles.
