Differentiating Evidence-Base from Effectiveness in Title III, Part A
Recorded Webinar

Duration: 1 hour
Intended Audience: District Leaders, Federal Programs Staff (Title III)
This training is designed to help LEA Title IIIA Directors increase their understanding of the differences between “evidence-base” and “effectiveness.” “Evidence-base” refers to an activity/strategy/intervention that research indicates could improve outcomes for English learners. “Effectiveness” refers to examining and reflecting upon how the activity/strategy/intervention worked or produced the desired outcomes for EL students within the local context.
Participants share challenges and successes in finding research studies with strong evidence showing that the funded activity/strategy/intervention will work, and in implementing locally driven action research (Logic Models) to identify whether the interventions are effective (or valuable) within their local context.
