FIP offers 29 online learning modules across four major practice areas for development. Information includes how to access the modules and resources for PLCs. A video shares FIP practices in action in a classroom.
October 23, 2025 (Session 2 – Using FIP for Instructional Improvement Planning): This webinar shares resources that can support an instructional improvement plan. Highlights include available resources to support goals and action steps. The session models revision of an actual school improvement plan.
December 4, 2025 (Session 3 – Design Formative Assessment for Lessons with FIP): Learn about the Designing Sound Assessment series of FIP modules. Information and examples help leaders see how targeted and efficient teaching, learning, and lesson-based assessments can become when the right kinds of formative practices are used to accurately document evidence of student learning.
January 22, 2026 (Session 4 – Leading FIP Professional Learning): Learn key leadership considerations to implement processes in Formative Instructional Practices (FIP) Professional Learning. Leaders can take away immediately usable actions that can support teacher growth. The session explains how to use Instructional Rounds as a process to improve (not evaluate) teacher practice.
February 26, 2026 (Session 5 – Teaching Students to Rethink Their Work): A major purpose of lesson-based formative assessment is for students to use evidence from their learning to confirm or revise their thinking or set goals for more learning. This webinar provides processes to help teachers reflect on what to do when students exhibit misconceptions in their understanding.
March 26, 2026 (Session 6 – The Road to Student Ownership of Learning): Learn about key considerations for students to develop agency for their own learning. Educators should consider and plan for pre-requisite skills that are necessary for students to support their own and others’ learning. This webinar identifies key constructs and foundational skills that enable students to take ownership of learning.
April 16, 2026 (Session 7 – More on Student Ownership of Learning): Learn more about planning work that supports student autonomy for learning.
