The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS), in partnership with the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), will present the 2026 Georgia School Safety and Homeland Security Conference on June 8–9, 2026, at the Savannah Convention Center in historic Savannah, Georgia.
What to Expect:
– Explore examples of school safety planning in action.
– Hear from leaders in the field about life-saving action steps and mitigation strategies.
– Collaborate on problem-solving strategies and protocols.
– Learn about BTAM, the Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness, school searches, event safety, and participate in individual conversations with area home security coordinators.
– Hear from several GaDOE staff members on topics including positive school climate, mental health awareness, the Unsafe School Choice Option, legislative updates, and more.
