Growing your Your Own: Paraprofessional to Teacher Apprenticeship Pathway

This virtual session introduces the Georgia Paraprofessional to Teacher Apprenticeship Pathway for school and district leaders interested in building strong grow-your-own teacher pipelines. Participants will learn the fundamentals of the apprenticeship model, including how it supports paraprofessionals as they work and earn while completing preparation toward teacher certification. The session also highlights pre-apprenticeship opportunities for high school students, demonstrating how early identification and support can strengthen the educator pipeline. Leaders will gain an overview of potential state and federal funding sources that support program development and sustainability and will leave with practical next steps for districts interested in launching a local program, including key planning considerations, partnerships, and initial actions to move forward.
