Innovative Learning Models: Cohort Two Informational Webinars & Application
November 2 - December 10

Description:
Georgia’s schools are full of creative educators and communities ready to design learning that meets the needs of today’s students and families. The Innovative K-12 Learning Models in Georgia project is a statewide partnership between the Georgia Department of Education and the Institute for Self-Directed Learning. Together, we help districts design, prototype, and launch new learner-centered public school models that run alongside their primary district model, deepen student engagement, strengthen family and community connection, and expand enrollment.
We’re now recruiting Cohort 2, a group of up to 10 districts that will learn and design together. Participating districts receive coaching and design support from ISDL and GaDOE, practical guidance on using Georgia’s existing policy flexibilities, learning journeys to innovative programs in Georgia and across the country, and a statewide network of forward-thinking peers.
The timeline: district applications and selections run from October 2026 through January 2027. Convenings, learning journeys, and design support follow from March through October 2027, and districts share their new models in October 2027.
These informational webinars are for district leaders who want to learn more before applying. We’ll walk through the project, what participation involves, and how the application works, with plenty of time for your questions.
