K-12 Literacy: Leading High-Impact Literacy Implementation

Effective literacy implementation requires more than strong resources—it requires intentional leadership, coherent systems, and sustained support for educators. This session will provide a 2026–27 update on Georgia’s literacy priorities, highlighting the latest guidance, instructional resources, and professional learning opportunities available through the Georgia Department of Education. Participants will explore strategies for leading high-impact literacy implementation grounded in the science of reading and the science of learning, strengthening disciplinary literacy and writing across content areas, and using evidence-based practices to improve student outcomes. Attendees will leave equipped with practical tools and actionable next steps to build coherent literacy systems that support educators and accelerate learning for every student.
