Launching the 2026–27 School Year: Strengthening Social Studies Teaching

Start the 2026–27 school year with the latest tools, resources, and updates from GaDOE Social Studies. This session will highlight new and expanded supports available through GaDOE Inspire, including instructional resources designed to strengthen standards-based instruction, promote inquiry, and enhance student engagement. Participants will explore strategies for integrating disciplinary literacy, purposeful writing, and critical thinking into social studies instruction while leveraging principles from the science of learning to deepen understanding and improve long-term retention. Attendees will also receive updates on upcoming initiatives, professional learning opportunities, and practical approaches for implementing Georgia’s K–12 Social Studies Standards with consistency, accessibility, and academic rigor throughout the 2026–27 school year.
