As part of the GaDOE Office of Whole Child Supports’ Student Services Leadership Series, this webinar explores the shift toward distraction-free learning environments for students by focusing on guidance, discipline, and lessons learned from implementation in schools. Participants examine the benefits of unplugging during the school day, the newly introduced state-reportable discipline code, how changes to policy and code impact leadership responses, and the essential elements for a successful transition. The session highlights leadership actions, communication strategies, stakeholder perspectives, and schoolwide practices that support consistent, student-centered implementation while maintaining a positive school climate.
