School Social Work 101: Maximizing the Role of the School Social Worker
This session in the School Social Work 101 series includes information about school social work best practices and how to get the most out of your school social work program. Georgia school social workers are certified mental health professionals who serve as a link between home, school, and community to promote and support students’ academic and social success. School social workers bring a unique professional knowledge and skill set to the school system and address a variety of issues that impact a student’s ability to learn including truancy, family conflict, abuse and neglect, social/emotional stressors, substance use, mental health needs, and crisis intervention.
