Multi-Level Prevention System, an essential component of Georgia’s MTSS, includes three levels of prevention. With a robust Tier I system in place, students identified through screening as underperforming, at-risk for poor learning/behavior outcomes, or in need of acceleration/enrichment are supported by targeted evidence-based interventions at the Tier 2 level.
In this session, Office of Whole Child Supports Program Specialists Christy Jones and Andrea Eller discuss the focus, instruction, setting, and assessments associated with Tier 2 instruction; the effectiveness of the secondary level of prevention measured through progress monitoring; and elements of implementation fidelity.
