Multi-Level Prevention System, an essential component of Georgia’s MTSS, includes three levels of prevention. With a robust Tier I system in place, students identified through screening as underperforming, at-risk for poor learning/behavior outcomes, or in need of acceleration/enrichment are supported by evidence-based interventions at the Tier 2 level. For the few students who may not respond as expected to these targeted supports, intensification of interventions may be needed.
In this session, Office of Whole Child Supports Program Specialists Christy Jones and Andrea Eller discuss 1) the focus, instruction, setting, and assessments associated with Tier 3 instruction, 2) existing tools and resources to intensify interventions at Tier 3, and 3) the data-based individualization (DBI) process to address Tier 3 needs.
