Research consistently underscores the critical role background knowledge plays in reading comprehension. However, literacy instruction has traditionally prioritized standards and strategies, often treating content knowledge as secondary or addressing it only when possible. Quad text sets provide a structured approach to correcting this misconception. Participants learn strategies and access resources to help teachers plan and implement quad text sets that intentionally build knowledge while developing literacy skills that transfer across texts.
