Self-Compassion for Educators (Teachers)
March 4 - April 22

Description:
This session is designed and scheduled for classroom teachers, as their limited schedules make accessing mental health professional learning difficult. To keep these sessions accessible for them, we kindly ask non‑classroom staff to register for our other available training opportunities.
Self-Compassion for Educators is an evidence- and skills-based training designed to help educators explore the research, practice, and experience of self-compassion, enhance their personal wellbeing, and revitalize their deep motivation for helping others. Because our brains are wired for survival, we naturally develop a negativity bias that focuses on and is motivated by critical or threatening thought patterns, including criticism, pain, and danger. This training helps educators understand and transform these habitual responses and develop the ability to motivate themselves with compassion rather than self-criticism. Research shows that self-compassion has a significant, positive impact on educator wellbeing, resilience, and stress management. Practicing self-compassion involves taking action and making intentional, positive changes in our lives. Through this process, we consistently see educators reconnect with their motivation, energy, and excitement for helping others.
