Setting the Hook and Reeling Them In: Creative Use of Images to Get Students Writing
K-12 Social Studies offers many opportunities for students to express their ideas, opinions, and conclusions through writing, yet many struggle with the basics or with how to get started. In this session, participants will begin with an intriguing image as a hook and then use it to guide struggling writers through a series of engaging activities that make writing feel accessible and manageable.
