July 21, 2025: This walkthrough will showcase supports and tools, reporting reminders, and application review for Continuation of Services.
August 25, 2025: Student Class data elements for Special Education – We will review the changes to Student Class reporting for current reporting year, pseudo-courses for specific special education services, and review the Student Class Special Education Delivery Models.
September 2, 2025: FTE data elements for Special Education – We will provide an overview of the program codes, inclusion codes, and environment codes used to report data during FTE for local special education programs as well as the requirements for reporting Dexter Mosley Students in FTE.
November 4, 2025: Special education teachers and paraprofessionals are required to meet Professional Qualifications based upon state law and the federal requirements of ESSA. The purpose of this session is to provide guidance on certification requirements and to respond to LEA certification questions. District level special education leaders are encouraged to have an HR professional from the LEA in attendance for the session.
January 8, 2026: Student Record data elements for Special Education focusing on when and how to recover special education events rejected after being reported in the Student Record Data Collection – We will address the overall process for rejected records as well as moving special education events into Student Record history, reasons that special education reported events might be rejected, and the process for recovering those special education events that need to be recovered, as well as removing events that are recovered in error.
March 11, 2026: Student Record data elements for Special Education focusing on the basics for reporting Special Education data during Student Record. Tips on reporting the Initiation of IEP Services/Transition Services (Event ’06’) for SWD identified at the end of the year will also be discussed.
May 5, 2026: Summer special education data collection – We will address the Special Education Applications Dashboard in the GaDOE Portal, specifically data collection guidance and information for Post School Outcomes, Preschool Outcomes, Parent Survey, Additional Technical Support and Improvement (ATSI), Continuation of Services, and Overdue Eligibility and IEP.
