The GaDOE Office of Whole Child Supports partners with an expert in the field of social media and youth mental health. This presentation is designed to equip educators with foundational resources to help students navigate social media by defining social media, evaluating the current narrative of social media and youth mental health, and describing research that links social media use to youth mental health outcomes. Participants receive practical guidance to support their work, including discussion of Center of Excellence frameworks within the K-12 educational context and tools to support K-12 student social media use.
