School-Based Mental Health services are growing in Georgia!
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a common approach used across Georgia and the nation to support students in need of counseling or therapeutic services. Facing the increased concern around the impact of trauma, the Project AWARE team embarked on a journey to certify select mental health professionals in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Preliminary results of this initial implementation are promising.
This session provides an overview of the Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model. A panel of mental health professionals share how they have implemented this model with Georgia students, including their experiences, challenges, and celebrations from training to sustained implementation.
Learn more about the application process and requirements as we prepare to launch a second TF-CBT cohort via Project AWARE. While priority will be given to AWARE LEAs, others are encouraged to apply for open slots that may become available.
