Using Science Resources for Coherent Instruction
July 27 - October 5

Description:
Session 1: From Framework to Classroom: Engaging Students Through Coherent Science Instruction
This professional learning session focuses on using the Science Standards‑Based Classroom Instructional Framework and the updated companion document to intentionally support meaningful science learning. Participants will examine how the framework helps educators plan, implement, and reflect on instruction that engages students in thinking, reasoning, and communicating as scientists. The session emphasizes clarity around instructional purpose and how the companion document supports consistent understanding of effective science teaching practices.
Session 2: Supporting 3D Science Learning with SEP and CCC Graphic Organizers
This session highlights the role of science graphic organizers in supporting three‑dimensional instruction. Participants will explore organizers intentionally designed to scaffold student engagement with the SEPs and CCCs and examine how they align to the science instructional framework. The session emphasizes strategic timing—when organizers can support access, structure thinking, or extend learning—while maintaining a focus on student sensemaking and independence.
