WIDA-Facilitated Virtual Workshop: Bringing Language Into Focus

This workshop provides K–12 teachers of English learners with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Key Language Uses (genre families) through an in-depth exploration of Language Expectations, Language Functions, and Language Features. Participants will learn the purpose and value of mentor texts in making language visible to students and will explore instructional materials and additional resources to support classroom implementation.

Participation Requirements
Participants must commit to attending both workshop sessions and completing one self-paced module (see flyer for details).

Registration Information
Registration closes Aug. 28, or when capacity is reached.
Participation is limited to 60 attendees and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Preference will be given to teams of two educators from the same school system.
