Writing Compliant Transition Plans Webinar Series
September 24 - March 18

Description:
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) is required to collect and report data regarding students with disabilities. Indicator 13 is publicly reported and measures the percentage of students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ages 16 and older, whose IEPs include appropriate and measurable postsecondary goals. The state target for this indicator is 100%.
GaDOE will collect Indicator 13 data through Cross-Functional Monitoring (CFM) for the 2026-2027 school year. Due to a significant decline in transition compliance data, all local educational agencies (LEAs), including LEAs identified as noncompliant during their most recent transition-plan compliance monitoring (FY26 CFM or FY26 Required Transition Monitoring) are strongly encouraged to participate in the planned ongoing professional learning provided by GaDOE during the 2026–2027 school year.
This professional learning opportunity will allow LEA staff to collaborate with GaDOE and receive training in developing compliant transition plans. Each session will focus on a specific area of the transition plan. GaDOE encourages LEAs to allow their special education directors, special education coordinators, transition specialists, lead teachers, and teachers to participate in each of the following monthly virtual sessions.
