The purpose of this training session is to understand the significance of the Buy American Provision and its requirements; demonstrate management of food purchases to ensure Buy American compliance; identify the recent regulatory updates and implementation timelines; evaluate and monitor spending and exceptions for non-domestic foods; and recognize additional approaches to support implementation. Presenters include GaDOE School Nutrition Procurement and Food Distribution Manager, Holly Thaw, and Procurement members, Teresa Stevenson and Lisa Powell.
