Session 2: Phonological & Phonemic Awareness
In this one-hour session, Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) explore phonological and phonemic awareness through the lens of the Science of Reading and its application to students who are blind or visually impaired. Participants gain a clear understanding of key concepts, engage with practical strategies, and learn how to apply these skills to lesson plans and caseloads. This session follows a “learn it, see it, use it” approach, providing ready-to-use tools for immediate implementation.
Duration: 1 hour
Intended Audience: DHH/BVI Early Intervention Specialist, Elementary Teachers, Middle School Teachers, Special Education Teachers, State Schools, Teacher of Students who are Blind, Visually Impaired, or Deafblind (TVI)
