The purpose of this training is to provide an overview of special diets in the school nutrition program. At the end of this training, participants will be able to identify when accommodations must be made; list the top nine allergens and be able to identify these in foods; distinguish when a medical statement is required; and implement procedures to ensure students are served safely. This training is beneficial for School Nutrition Directors, Coordinators, Manager/Supervisors, school nurses, teachers, and parents. Learning Code(s): 1160
