This session explores what it means to be an instructional leader in special education and highlights best practices for improving achievement for students with disabilities (SWD). Participants examine key questions, including: How is SWD achievement progressing in your building? How are you serving as a change agent? What are you looking for during walkthroughs? How do you know students are learning? How do you know teachers are growing? How do individualized education programs (IEPs), specially designed instruction (SDI), high-leverage practices (HLP), assistive technology (AT), and accommodations and modifications impact instruction?
