This session highlights and integrates the value of Connecting to a K-12 Culinary Culture across teams. Participants will watch and learn with the Georgia Department of Education School Nutrition Division’s culinary specialists and food safety specialist as they share basic cooking methods and equipment tips for consistently producing fluffy, high-quality rice in school kitchens. The session also covers best practices for cooking, cooling, holding, and reheating rice to maintain quality and prevent foodborne illness, as well as creative, student-approved ways to use rice across school menus.
This session is beneficial for lead production and frontline staff, school-level managers, and district leadership.
