Culinary Connections: Perfectly Toasted Bread

Recorded Webinar

Description:

This session helps amplify and integrate the value of Connecting to a K-12 Culinary Culture across teams. Watch and learn with Chef John Huff, Chef Rachel Petraglia, Chef Michael DuBose, and Dr. Ellen Steinberg as they share more about mastering the art of perfectly toasted bread. This may seem like a simple or unusual topic. However, toasted bread is something everyone who dines with you has had. Students have expectations for a golden-brown color. They know the texture – that contrast of crunchy exterior and soft interior. It’s important that your technique for toasting bread is done well. Often toasted bread in schools can be brown, not golden, and hard. In this session the Culinary Team will show you a method for ensuring perfectly toasted bread that makes sense for K-12 production. This session is beneficial for Lead Production and Front Line Staff, School Level Managers, and District Leadership. Learning Code(s): 2130
